Vendor FAQ

Everything you need to know about selling on SAVI Place — standards, certifications, payouts, and how to apply.

About SAVI Place

What is SAVI Place?

SAVI Place is a curated marketplace for natural fiber and non-toxic products — clothing, bedding, swimwear, activewear, and home textiles. Every product listed meets a strict material standard: natural and certified plant-based fibers only. No polyester, no nylon, no recycled plastics, no conventional cotton.

SAVI stands for Shop All Vetted Items. Every brand and every product on the site has been verified against our material standard before listing.

Who shops on SAVI Place?

Customers who are actively looking for natural fiber products — people who read labels, understand certifications, and make purchasing decisions based on what's actually in their products. They filter by fiber type (organic cotton, linen, merino wool, TENCEL), check badge details, and buy from brands they can trust. They are not looking for a bargain — they are looking for the right product.

How is SAVI different from other sustainable marketplaces?

Most sustainable marketplaces treat recycled polyester as a virtue. We don't. Recycled plastic (rPET) still sheds microplastics and contains the same chemical concerns as virgin polyester — it's an environmental claim, not a body-safety claim. SAVI carries only fibers that are genuinely natural or certified plant-based. No greenwashing, no exceptions.

Who can sell on SAVI

What kinds of brands sell on SAVI?

Women's, men's, and kids' clothing brands. Bedding, bath, and home textile brands. Swimwear brands. Activewear brands. Any brand whose products are made from natural fibers and hold valid third-party certifications.

Can I sell on SAVI if I'm based outside the US?

Yes. SAVI is open to vendors worldwide, as long as you can ship to customers in the United States and receive payouts via Stripe Connect (available in 40+ countries).

Can I sell if only some of my products meet the standard?

Yes. You don't need your entire catalog to qualify — only the products you list on SAVI need to meet our material standard. PARTIAL vendors are approved and list only their qualifying product lines.

Can I sell if I'm a new or small brand?

Yes. We welcome small artisan makers and independent brands. What matters is fiber content and certification, not brand size or revenue.

Can EU-based vendors sell on SAVI?

Yes. EU-based vendors sourcing from within the EU benefit from automatic EU animal welfare compliance for wool and down — you don't need RWS or RDS certification for EU-farmed materials. All fiber and chemical certifications (GOTS, OEKO-TEX) are still required regardless of location.

Material standard

What fibers are allowed on SAVI?

Approved fibers include: organic cotton (GOTS or OCS certified), linen, hemp, merino and other wools, silk, alpaca, cashmere, TENCEL lyocell, modal (OEKO-TEX required), and bamboo viscose (OEKO-TEX required). Elastane (also called spandex or Lycra) is permitted up to 11% of fiber content, and only when the finished garment holds a valid OEKO-TEX STANDARD 100 certification. The elastane must be virgin or bio-based — recycled elastane does not qualify. Note that LYCRA T400 is not elastane: it is a stretch polyester (fiber name elasterell-p) and is not permitted.

What fibers are banned?

Polyester (virgin or recycled/rPET), nylon, acrylic, PVC, any recycled plastic bottle fabric, conventional (non-organic) cotton, PFAS-based finishes, formaldehyde wrinkle treatments, and real fur. No exceptions.

Why does cotton need to be organic but linen and wool don't?

Cotton absorbs pesticides during farming into the fiber itself. After six home washes, 1–42% of pesticide residue remains — it doesn't wash out. Organic certification eliminates this. Linen and hemp are naturally pest-resistant and grown without pesticides by default. Wool and silk don't absorb pesticides in the fiber the same way. OEKO-TEX certification on the finished garment still matters for all fibers — it catches any chemical residue introduced during dyeing and processing.

What about down and wool fills in bedding?

Down fill is allowed with Responsible Down Standard (RDS) certification (verifies no live plucking, no force feeding). Wool fill is allowed with RWS or ZQ+ certification. EU-farmed down and wool are exempt from these requirements. Kapok and natural latex fills are approved without certification requirements — though latex products must include an allergy disclosure on the product page. Synthetic fills (polyester fiberfill, memory foam) are banned.

What about leather?

Leather is allowed with Leather Working Group (LWG) Gold or Silver certification, which covers chemical safety and supply chain traceability.

Certifications

What certifications do I need?

It depends on your fibers:

Material Required certification
Cotton products GOTS or OCS
All finished garments OEKO-TEX Standard 100 or GOTS
Non-EU wool / animal fibers RWS or ZQ+
Down fill (non-EU) RDS
Leather LWG Gold or Silver
Modal / bamboo viscose OEKO-TEX Standard 100
How do you verify certifications?

We verify all certificate numbers against public databases before approving any listing:

  • GOTS: global-standard.org/certificate-search
  • OEKO-TEX: we verify every certificate number via the official Label Check (oeko-tex.com/en/label-check), confirm the certificate covers the finished garment (not just the fabric), and prefer certificates issued after 1 April 2025, which reflect the tightened BPA limit (10 mg/kg, down from 100)
  • RWS/RDS: textileexchange.org
  • LWG: leatherworkinggroup.com
What if I have GOTS certification?

GOTS-certified products are fast-tracked — fiber content is pre-approved. If your garment contains elastane above GOTS's own 10% allowance, we require a separate OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certificate on the finished garment.

What if I don't have certification yet?

Products without valid third-party certification cannot be listed at this time. We recommend applying once your certifications are in place. GOTS and OEKO-TEX certificates are the most common starting points.

Product badges

Pure Stretch Plant-Based
What are the SAVI badges?

Every product on SAVI carries one or more color-coded badge pills that tell customers exactly what's in it:

  • Pure — 100% natural fibers, no elastane
  • Stretch — natural fibers + up to 11% certified elastane (also called spandex or Lycra)
  • Plant-Based — TENCEL lyocell, modal, or bamboo viscose (OEKO-TEX required)

A product can carry more than one badge — for example, a TENCEL legging with 8% elastane shows both Plant-Based and Stretch.

Who assigns the badges?

Badges are assigned automatically based on the fiber content you enter during the application. No manual tagging required.

Payments

How do I get paid?

Via Stripe Connect, automatically, on a monthly cycle — payouts are processed on or around the 14th of each month, covering eligible orders from the preceding calendar month. An order becomes eligible once you upload its tracking number.

Are there transaction fees?

SAVI charges 18% commission on each sale — all-in, including payment processing. No separate Stripe fees, no listing fees, no monthly fees. One number: 18% of what you sell. On a $100 order, you receive $82.00.

That 18% also covers our marketing partners. When a sale comes through an affiliate, influencer, or publisher we work with, their commission is paid out of our share — never deducted from yours and never charged back to you. An affiliate-driven $100 order still pays you $82.00.

What happens to the commission when a customer returns an order?

You get almost all of it back. When a return is processed, SAVI credits its full commission back to you except for the payment processing fee — 2.9% of the order total plus $0.30 — which our payment processor keeps and does not return to us when a refund is issued.

On a $100 order: our commission is $18.00. On a return, $14.80 is credited back to you and $3.20 is retained to cover the processing fee we can't recover. Your total cost on that return is $3.20, and you get the product back.

We keep only what the processor kept. SAVI does not profit from returns.

How are refunds and cancellations handled?

Refunds, cancellations, and chargebacks are deducted transparently in the next payout cycle with full line-item visibility — you always know exactly what's being deducted and why.

If you can't fulfill an order, you can cancel it from your vendor portal and the customer is refunded automatically. Your only cost is the unrecoverable payment processing fee (2.9% + $0.30) — the same as on a return. Cancel as early as possible; keeping cancellations under 5% of your orders keeps your vendor standing healthy.

Can I run sales or discounts on my products?

Yes — and SAVI never discounts your products without your consent. To run a promotion, email vendors@saviplace.com with the discount and dates, and we'll create a discount code scoped to just your products. When a discount applies, commission is calculated on the amount the customer actually pays, so the markdown is shared proportionally between you and SAVI.

Can I see my earnings in real time?

Yes. Your vendor portal shows sales, owed amounts, and payout history at all times.

Application process

How do I apply?

The application takes about 10 minutes. You'll need your fiber content details and certification numbers for each product line you want to list.

What happens after I apply?

We review all applications within 5 business days. We verify your certificate numbers against public databases during review. You'll receive an email with approval, a request for more information, or a decline with the reason.

What if my application is declined?

We'll tell you exactly why. The most common reasons are missing certification or a fiber that doesn't meet our standard. You're welcome to reapply once the issue is resolved.

Can I add more products after I'm approved?

Yes. Once approved, you can add product lines through your vendor portal. New product lines go through the same fiber verification process.

Shipping and logistics

Do I handle my own shipping?

Yes — you fulfill orders directly to customers from your own inventory; SAVI Place doesn't warehouse products. You set your own shipping rates, and customers see them at checkout. Rates are managed through our vendor platform, and shipping label integrations (ShipStation, Shippo, Easyship) are available. You bear the risk of loss until tracking shows delivery — lost-in-transit shipments are refunded or replaced at your cost, so always ship with tracking.

What markets do I need to ship to?

SAVI Place currently sells and ships within the United States only. You'll need to be able to ship to all 50 states.

What are the processing time requirements?

We ask vendors to ship within their stated processing time. If you list a 3–5 day processing time, customers expect that. Consistent delays affect your vendor standing on the platform.

Still have questions?

Email us at vendors@saviplace.com and we'll get back to you within 2 business days.
